Hi, I'm Emma.
I am a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), certified through Yoga Alliance; I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of San Francisco and a certification in crisis counseling and Trauma-Informed yoga.
I teach alignment-based vinyasa yoga inspired by the Atmananda yoga sequence while integrating aspects of the ancient lineage of Ashtanga. Through a mix of these two methods, practitioners can gain supportive guidance into a state of samadhi while still honoring their unique body structure. These vinyasa classes help build physical strength and flexibility and increase psychological well-being.
I strive to create a healing and nurturing space for all. My trauma-informed classes, which are separate from the vinyasa classes, support healing from trauma through honoring choices, strengthening vagal tone and coping skills, developing self-compassion, building safety and resilience, and widening the window of tolerance. I am here to spread awareness about sexual assault and how its resulting trauma affects the nervous system, which then reverberates through all other aspects of life, as well as bring forth another modality of healing for survivors.
If you want to book a private one-on-one or group yoga class, submit the form on the contact page. I am available to travel to your residence or hold the session at an outdoor or indoor venue.
